I am saddened to have to add these specialised treatments to our menu, but delighted to have found such an amazing company to be working with.
Most Salon and Spa insurance companies tell us that we are not insured to work on clients that are going through or have had cancer treatment within the last 5 years. This I feel is terrible. At a time when you are potentially feeling low and in need of some TLC we are supposed to turn you away, this is almost barbaric and having spoken to ladies to whom this has happened it merely compounded their feelings of isolation and loneliness and took away even more of their dignity.
In April this year I started my training in London with the Jennifer Young Beauty Beyond Cancer Company. We had two intense days training in theory and practical treatments and our first written paper. During these two days I learnt an incredibly amount, proving you can teach an ‘old girl new tricks’. I am now back in the salon working through case studies for each of the treatments that we will be able to offer including full body massages, facials, manicures and pedicures. I will keep you updated as things progress but my aim is to be able to offer these treatments to anyone who may need them by August this year.
